If Ty Lawson’s goal is to get traded, he’s doing an excellent job of giving the Nuggets incentive to do so. If his goal is to get fined by the NBA, he’s doing an even better job.
Early Sunday morning Lawson introduced the world to yet another incriminating social-media snippet when he posted the video below to his Facebook timeline:
Lawson also reportedly published an equally implicate video on his Instagram account, which has since been deleted; however public tweets in response to his photo remain:
@SportsCenter TY Lawson Smoking Weed??? Come on tarheel ?

Whether the Instagram video was the same as the Facebook video is hard to say. Only those who saw it can testify. What we can say is that Lawson’s increasing carelessness on social media has grown out of control. Posting early-morning videos of sloppy freestyles with drug paraphernalia strewn about is just about as reckless as it gets. What’s really a concern, however, is not Lawson’s health (both mental and physical) but his value on the open market.
Lawson is going to get traded. That’s virtually a guarantee at this point. Yet with each domestic violence arrest and weed-filled Instagram post comes a gradual decrease in trade value. At the speed Lawson’s going the Nuggets will be lucky to get a bag of potato chips in return for his services.
With June 25 as the likeliest date for Lawson to be moved, I think I speak for all of Nuggets Nation when I say the 2015 NBA Draft can’t come soon enough.
