Ty Lawson arrested for DUI in LA

Ty Lawson is back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Mr. Lawson been getting absolutely crushed in the last 24 hours by Denver sports fans after BSN Denver released a screen shot of him taking shots at Chauncey Billups. Our own Ryan Koenigsberg even got in on the action, writing an interesting response to Ty’s irresponsible online statements.

But now, we have something else to talk about. Ty Lawson was reportedly arrested this morning in Los Angeles after failing a road side sobriety test. According to TMZ, Lawson was pulled over after speeding on the 101 Freeway this morning at 2:30AM.

This is Ty Lawson’s third DUI and second one this year after being pulled over for the same reason in Denver, in January. He also posted a video of himself smoking hookah and calling for a trade during the draft a few weeks ago.

The once beloved prospect is becoming a villain in this town and it’s his own fault. Unfortunately for the Nuggets, he’s becoming harder and harder to trade as each day passes.

The Nuggets released a statement regarding Lawson’s most recent arrest.

“We have been notified of an incident involving Ty Lawson this morning in Los Angeles,” said Nuggets General Manager and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly. “We will not have further comment on the matter.”

Pretty much a cut and paste from the statement they made on Lawson’s arrest in January, but omitting “Per team policy and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”
