What an exciting last few days it’s been for former Colorado State Rams football players.

For two defensive linemen, Terry Jackson and Martavius Foster, their dreams are one step closer to being fulfilled as each will get a chance to prove their worth at teams’ rookie minicamps in the very near future.

Jackson was invited to work out for the Arizona Cardinals, which he learned about on Saturday night, while Foster announced late Monday night he’s headed to Tampa Bay to show off his skills for the Buccaneers.

Foster was a productive defensive lineman in his senior season, recording 27 total tackles with 5.5 sacks, 8.0 tackles for a loss, a fumble recovery and four QB hurries. As a full-time starter, he became more comfortable in his abilities and what was demanded from the role and then excelled.

Here we see Foster working with Rams legend Joey Porter at CSU Pro Day along with Cory James — who was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round — and SteveO Michel. Foster is in the black shirt, grey shorts and black leggings with white shoes.

While Foster came on in his senior year, Jackson was a consistent presence for three years on the Rams defensive line. Jackson, who stands at 6-foot-1 and 295 pounds, was more well-suited to play in the middle at defensive tackle. From there, he was a solid run-stuffer and also found ways to get penetration to pressure the opposing quarterback.

To start the weekend off, Rashard Higgins was taken in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns. Then, a round later, Cory James was selected by the Oakland Raiders. For a third straight year the Rams had two players drafted.

Then, the undrafted free agent signings started. DeAndre Elliott (Seattle Seahawks), Kivon Cartwright (Tampa Bay), Sam Carlson (Tennessee Titans), Joe Hansley (Oakland), and Jasen Oden (Atlanta Falcons) have brought the number of Next Level Rams up to nine. Now, the UDFAs really have to prove themselves in a hurry with many teams conducting their rookie minicamps either this week or next.
