ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — After missing last Sunday’s game due to a foot injury, Denver Broncos starting quarterback Trevor Siemian participated in every practice this week and appears to be on track to start for the team this Sunday as they head to Nashville, Tennessee.
While he is officially listed as “Questionable” for the early bout with the Titans, head coach Gary Kubiak told media on Friday that the first-year starter just needs to avoid any setbacks before Sunday.
“He came in today, he felt good,” he said. “We pushed him a little bit harder today; I still see him out there doing some extra. A bunch of good signs but we’ll see how he’s doing tomorrow… (Practice Friday) was good; he did everything that we asked him to do yesterday, probably a little bit more today. We’re still repping Paxton [Lynch], and we’ll see if [Trevor] can get there on game day.”
Kubiak said an official decision will likely be made on Saturday as to who his quarterback will be for the must-win game, but all signs right now point to No. 13 starting the contest for the Orange & Blue.
“The bottom line is, ‘Can you do what you need to do to play?'” Kubiak concluded. “He’s been doing that the last couple of days.”
Linebacker Brandon Marshall and long snapper Casey Kreiter have been ruled out for the game, while wide receiver Bennie Fowler joins Siemian in the “Questionable” category.
