Well maybe the Broncos and Browns were never rivals, but they sure had some great matchup’s in years gone by. Here’s a look at some of the greatest games between the Broncos and the Browns.

January 11th, 1987 – The Drive – Cleveland Municipal Stadium

Elway takes the Broncos from “right where they want em”, 98 yards in the final minutes in the AFC Championship game to tie and eventually win the game off of the barefoot of Rich Karlis (snap held by Gary Kubiak) in overtime.

January 17th, 1988 – The Fumble – Mile High Stadium

Just a year after Elway and the Broncos break the Browns hearts, Earnest Byner does it again. After rallying from a 28-10 deficit the Browns are positions for a “Drive” of their own to tie the game at 38 a piece when Byner, just moments before getting to the end zone, fumbles the ball and sends the Broncos to a second consecutive Super Bowl.

January 14th, 1989 – AFC Championship game #3 – Mile High Stadium

Third time’s the charm for Cleveland? Not so fast. This game doesn’t get a fun name because it wasn’t much of a contest. Couldn’t find adequate highlights but here’s an awesome vintage 90’s intro video highlighting John Elway‘s “Bright smile and John Wayne Style.”
