DENVER — For the second time in 2016, BSN Denver gathered together a group of our favorite media members who cover the daily grind of the Colorado Rockies just like we do. Hosted by the Blake Street Tavern, we were pleased to have a very special guest join us this time around in MLB.com’s Thomas Harding who was kind enough to answer and even ask a few questions with his years of experience and knowledge.
Kevin Henry from Roxpile, Ben Macaluso from Mile High Sports, super-fan Will Carpenter, and our own Sarah Ford and Jake Shapiro, round out the panel. Topics range from the upcoming trade deadline and All-Star Game to the incoming prospects this team will see in the near future.
We spend a great deal of time on the Carlos Gonzalez question. Should the Rockies trade him? Build around him? If they do trade him, to who? And for what? Harding even suggests for reasons I had not previously heard, that Charlie Blackmon may make more sense as a trade piece.
We finish up taking a long view of the Rockies and pontificating on what direction the team should be heading now in order to get where most of the panel believes they can go.
