The Nuggets have reached an agreement with Western Union as a corporate sponsor for next season, the team announced Tuesday. The three-year alliance will officially be revealed during a press conference at Pepsi Center Tuesday morning.
With the NBA switching from Adidas to Nike, teams are allowed to sell ad space on their jerseys next season. Many teams, including the Cavaliers, Kings, Magic, Nets and others have already agreed to terms with a corporate sponsor. Brooklyn and the software company Infor have a deal in place for a reported $8 million per year, according to ESPN.
Here’s a teaser of the new jerseys via the Nuggets’ Twitter account:
Denver appears to have ditched the light blue and gone to a darker tone. The yellow, which was more of a featured color on last year’s jersey has been minimized as well to simply border the jerseys and numbers.
Expect the Nuggets to reveal their “Association Edition” (home jerseys) “Icon Edition” (away jerseys) soon and their two remaining editions, which could include a Rainbow Skyline Throwback themed uniforms later this fall.
