With their 10–5 win at Stanford the Colorado Buffaloes won their sixth game of the 2016 season Saturday, which means they are bowl eligible for the first time since 2007.
The Buffs also have a great chance at finishing above .500 for the first time since 2005.
Neither of these goals are what the Buffs seek however as they’re chasing a Pac-12 Championship. With their win today, the Buffs are 4-1 in conference which is at the very least tied for the lead depending on what Utah does today. But going back to the bowl is of major importance and that’s a huge stepping stone in the resurgence of the Colorado Football Program.
The Buffaloes have been to 28 bowl games and have won 12, their last win coming in the 2o04 Houston Bowl against UTEP. The program’s first bowl appearance came in the 1938 Cotton Bowl against Rice but the Buffaloes bowl prominence in the 1990s as they went to the postseason every single season.
