The Broncos are bringing in a top tackle for a pre-draft visit

The Broncos have upgraded their offensive line, but they still have a gaping hole at the line’s most important position.

While the team brass would like you to believe they aren’t desperate at left tackle, alluding to players better fit at other positions as options, it’s fair to say they will be taking a long, hard look at their options at the position in April’s NFL Draft.

One of those options is former three-year starter at Alabama, Cam Robinson. Robinson is projected as a first-round pick and is expected to be available when the Broncos make their selection at 20. The Broncos are set to bring in Robinson for a visit in the coming weeks, as first reported by Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post.

Many have raised questions about where Robinson projects at the pro level, with struggles in pass protection causing concern about his left tackle ability. Robinson, though, scoffs at such doubt.

Asked if he’s the top tackle in this class, the Alabama product didn’t hesitate, “Definitely, next question,” he said.

“It’s what I believe,” he added when asked to explained. “I believe in what I’ve put on film for the past three years. I think I’ve put it on film and I don’t have to talk much more about it.”

While the film isn’t quite as self-explanatory as Robinson seems to believe, you can’t knock his confidence. In the coming weeks, Vance Joseph and his staff will get a chance for some one-on-one evaluation with their potential investment of the future.
