DENVER — Legends live on forever.  Trey McBride leaves Colorado State as the program’s all-time leader in receptions (164) and receiving yards (2,100) by a tight end. With 1,121 receiving yards in 2021, McBride surpassed Dennis Pitta for the most in a single season by any Mountain West tight end. It was the fifth-most by any FBS tight end ever.  On Monday McBride was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus. His season grade of 95.0 is the second-highest that anyone has ever received from PFF. Only Kyle Pitts at Florida graded higher and he was ultimately selected with the No. 4 overall pick of the NFL Draft.  What the numbers show is what…

The loss extends CSU’s winless streak to six games and puts the final exclamation point on what’s been an absolutely dreadful campaign.  The disappointment started with a less-than-stellar showing in the season opener against South Dakota State, when...

FORT COLLINS, CO. — Trey McBride could have transferred from Colorado State back in August. Any number of major programs would have welcomed him in with open arms after what No. 85 put on film during his sophomore year. He chose to stay. Now, with a chance to make the leap to the NFL and cash in on his talents, the superstar tight end is once again choosing to stay. In a surprising social media announcement Wednesday night, McBride declared to the world that he will be back for a final year with the Rams. Making things even better for Ram Nation, Trey’s older brother, Toby, also announced he will be returning in 2021 as well. “Playing football for Colorado State has…

FORT COLLINS, CO. — Let’s run it back.  The 2020 season was synonymous with frustration. Most of the games were canceled and Colorado State got just one chance to play on their home turf.  As difficult as the season was, though, one of the position groups that really made a difference was the defensive line. Led by Manny Jones, Toby...

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — There was no way that Trey McBride was going to let a defensive back bring him down Thursday night, not in the Border War, and not with the Bronze Boot on the line.  On 2nd and eight, one minute after Wyoming cut CSU’s lead to a single score for the first time since the opening quarter...

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — “It sucks to be a CSU Ram.” The words echoed throughout Canvas Stadium as the Wyoming Cowboys jumped, hugged, and mocked their bitter rivals on their own turf back in 2018.  Although it was just one moment in what has now become an extended losing streak full of painful memories against the school to the north,...
