DENVER — Jay Norvell is a breath of fresh air.  In an era of college football where access has become increasingly limited and doors have been closed both to the media and the communities in which the programs reside, Colorado State announced on Wednesday that all of its 15 practices in the spring period will be completely open to the public.…

DENVER — Colorado State’s starting quarterback for all 12 games in 2021 has decided to enter the transfer portal. Todd Centeio announced his decision on Tuesday evening. https://twitter.com/toddycenteio/status/1470908866393100289 Centeio will leave CSU with a 3-10 record as a starter but respectable numbers overall. He completed 58 percent of his passes, threw for 3,167 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Centeio rushed for 529 yards and a pair of touchdowns too. In a shootout loss at Hawaii, Centeio threw for 527 passing yards and five touchdowns. And despite CSU’s lack of team success in 2021, Centeio’s consistent effort and heart on the field was admirable. His ownership of mistakes and poor play was unique as well. Ram Nation should certainly wish…

DENVER — The Steve Addazio era is over. According to multiple reports the veteran head coach was relieved of his duties on Thursday morning after just two seasons at Colorado State. Addazio went 4-12 in the 16 games that he was in charge of the program but it was a tumultuous ride from the start. Being fair to him, it was a difficult situation taking over a program right at the beginning of the pandemic. The 2020 investigation into the coaching conduct didn’t do him any favors either, though one could argue it was a sign things weren’t ever going to go smoothly with him at the helm.  With the buyout dipping from $5 million to $3 million on Dec.…

FORT COLLINS — 3-9.  The Colorado State football team closed out the 2021 season with a 52-10 loss to Nevada on Senior Night. The loss extends CSU’s winless streak to six games and puts the final exclamation point on what’s been an absolutely dreadful campaign.  The disappointment started with a less-than-stellar showing in the season opener against South Dakota State, when...

DENVER — Colorado State football received the complete island experience on Saturday night. After going down 26 points in the second half and looking completely dead in the water, CSU came storming back with 28 in the fourth quarter and nearly found a way to pull off an insane victory. Whatever they wanted to do on offense, they did it. And they...

DENVER — Saturday’s game between Colorado State and Wyoming will feature two teams that hate each other a whole lot. The longest continuous rivalry west of the Mississippi River, the Border War is one of the most unique rivalries in all of college football. And this year there’s even more at stake as both schools desperately need a win to...

DENVER — Steve Addazio knows the importance of beating Wyoming. The longstanding rivalry with “the team from the north” was something he brought up during his introductory press conference nearly two years ago and it’s been a big point of emphasis for the veteran head coach ever since.  “This is what college football is all about. It’s why it’s different (from)...

DENVER — Colorado State missed an opportunity to make a statement on Saturday night.  A win over Boise State would have kept the Rams alive in the race for the Mountain West Championship, a feat CSU hasn’t accomplished since 2002; it also would have been a significant moment for the program and how the college football world views it.  On a...

DENVER — 10 games, 10 losses.  Colorado State is the only team in the Mountain West to have never beaten Boise State. The series started with a 63-13 throttling back in 2011 and has been an annual gut punch for the Ram Faithful ever since.  There have been some competitive games over the years. In 2013 the Rams jumped out...

DENVER — Heartbreak.  Colorado State had an opportunity to complete a crazy comeback against Utah State on Friday night. After trailing for the majority of the game the Rams (3-4, 2-1), led by a dominant defense, were able to fight their way back into the contest and likely should have won. Unfortunately after running the hurry-up offense to perfection and...
