The San Francisco 49ers’ defense punched the Denver Broncos’ offense in the mouth in the team’s first joint practice session on Friday. On Saturday, in round two, the Broncos returned the blow.
The Broncos’ offense struggled on Friday, to put it nicely. For the first half of practice, it appeared the defense was following their lead. Justin Simmons put an end to that.
Vic Fangio let the tides settle in Thursday’s practice by taking the pads off and having a shorter practice before the waves will start crashing on Friday with the 49ers.
The Broncos have a rich history of undrafted rookies making the final 53-man roster. So rich, in fact, that at least one undrafted rookie has made Denver’s roster in 14 of the past 15 years.
The Broncos' pass rush may very well be getting even better, thanks to two unsuspecting rookies that have quickly grabbed the attention of the people that make Denver’s defense so lethal.
