Ryan Clady is the lone Bronco left from the Mike Shanahan era. Clady was drafted by the Broncos in 2008 and spent his rookie season under Shanahan’s zone blocking scheme.
“It’s comforting. It was a long time ago, so it’s a little different.” Clady said. “I’m just used to the old scheme. It’s comforting. I think I can handle it for sure.”

“I think it’s just a lot more running side to side and cutting more. Those are the main differences for us, in my opinion.”
Clady has more on his mind than just zone blocking.

The Broncos offensive line will likely feature a unit where Clady is the only returning starter at his position. Louis Vasquez might return to his natural right guard position, a new center, left guard and right tackle could all be in the mix.
If this new look offensive line is to succeed, it will likely be with the help of Clady’s and newcomer Owen Daniels’ familiarity with the zone blocking scheme. “Owen Daniels can definitely help a lot with the tackles that may not know the calls. Just being in the system his whole career is nice.”
