Hello Drew! I have set up the fantasy baseball league and was wondering if you were still interested in joining and also opening it up to the podcast listeners by saying something on the pod! Let me know if you need anything from me! You can get a hold of me on twitter @RothInWyoming

I appreciate Cargo for what he has meant to the organization – but taking a roster spot in 2018 creates a problem that wasn’t there before. Yes, having depth is always important – the combination of Desmond+Cargo+Parra slotted in for 2 corner outfield spots everyday – plus the possibility Cargo can spell Desmond+McMahon at 1B – I get it. But here we are again – Dahl+Tapia are a year older, and there are not enough roster spots or plate appearances available for those two guys to prove themselves at the major league level. These are two of the most exciting position players the Rockies have ever developed. It has to be frustrating to sit in Albuquerque and watch another year of opportunity pass by. In my opinion, Cargo+Parra are not contributing more wins in 2018 than Dahl+Tapia (could have). The front office clearly disagrees. I hope Cargo recovers in 2018 to be an average regular, but I was looking forward to watching the two young kids play everyday, ending the ‘you can’t count on them’ nonsense – guess I’ll have to wait til 2019!

I finally got a chance to read the article on lineup construction and enjoyed it (in spite of the spelling errors, LOL). Those unfortunate souls who haven’t subscribed, yet, sure are missing out.
The prospect of Carlos Gonzalez coming back is an exciting one. I think he still has a little game left on offense and defense and his “clubhousiness” and ability to make those around him better are always a bonus. That being said, I don’t think he deserves an every day job (is that even on the table?), but needs to prove himself first. Last years’ many empty, painful at-bats are still too fresh in the memory. But if anyone can bounce back, someone with his talent has as good of a chance as any. Looking forward to seeing what he’s able to do this season.
