Regarding the starting lineup: has anyone thought of cloning Charlie Blackmon? Then he could bat 1st & 3rd. Although maybe that would block the development of Tapia/Dahl the same way signing a free agent outfielder would. Might also hinder the ability to sign Nolan Arenado long-term since Original Charlie & Clone Charlie would EACH be owed 7yrs $100 million plus. Unless Clone Charlie has a different service time clock…
As far as Rockies in the Winter Olympics:
recent Rockie Carlos Gonzalez would have made a good Skeleton racer. Watch video of him diving in the outfield or into a base to see what I mean. (Note: all his hand/finger/wrist injuries came from swinging a bat not diving.)
Also, what do you think of Nolan as a slopestyle skier or snowboarder? I don’t know from personal expetience, by it looks like it involves lot of energy, agility, and improvisation; all traits Nolan uses to play third base.
