Parra is an F- if ever there was one. He just turned in one of the single worst campaigns in major league history and his season was already headed that way BEFORE he got injured. This signing made zero sense when it happened and will be akin to a festering plague now for years to come. Parra had already lost his major tool which was elite outfield defense back in 2014 and what offense he did bring had been deteriorating for years and had culminated with a .237/.268/.357 line with Baltimore in 238 post-trade PA’s in 2015. No team wanted to sign Parra last offseason for good reason and he remained unsigned for a long time when suddenly and totally inexplicably he got the deal he got from the Rockies. Yikes?!?!?! Just think, 2 more years of a .270 OBP out of a hitter playing half his games at Coors?????? I always like to think positively about a possible return to form from a player but did you even watch any of his ABs last season? I fear that this is a player who is done. He swings at everything and can’t seem to differentiate pitches nor location and simply has to rely on his natural hitting ability to make contact. I hope to God that I am wrong, but fear that I am not.
