According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, the Colorado Rockies recalled outfielder Brandon Barnes in wake of Gerardo Parra‘s ankle injury.

As BSN Denver’s Adam Kinney reported Parra is expected to miss about three weeks with the injury he sustained Tuesday. Parra has played 63 games this season since coming over as a free agent this past offseason. In 2016, Parra is slashing .263/.274/.424 with 5 HR and 27 RBI.

Right-handed outfielder Barnes will replace the lefty Parra. Barnes has spent parts of three seasons on the Rockies since coming over in the Dexter Fowler trade. This season he has played 17 games in the majors and 34 games in Triple-A. In Albuquerque, he OPS’d .698 with 8 SB.
