The Colorado Rockies hit four solo home runs but succumb to a late rally by the Milwaukee Brewers, losing 6-5.

Still, there were plenty of good signs from an offense that still has a ton of questions to answer.

David Dahl hit his second home run in as many days and almost added a third, driving one to the warning track that ultimately fell into the glove of Christian Yelich.

Trevor Story hit his first home run of the spring in the third, a no-doubt solo shot to left. Story is batting .333/.500/.1.000 on the spring with two walks and three strikeouts in nine at-bats.

Colorado’s third run of the game came the same way as the first two, a solo home run this time off the bat of Ryan McMahon. It was also his first round-tripper of the spring, though his offense has been en fuego since he arrived. He is batting .450 over 20 at-bats.

Anthony Bemboom made it back-to-back homers for the Rockies in the sixth, following up McMahon’s blast.

As the inning continued, Colorado finally got a run without the benefit of a home run when Raimel Tapia singled, stole second and scored on a single to right field from Noel Cuevas. If was Tapia’s first successful stolen base (three caught stealing) in his lead-off audition this spring.

Kyle Freeland was not sharp on the mound, throwing more balls than strikes through the first two innings. He gave up three runs on five hits including a long home run to Eric Thames. He struck out two and walked one.

Jake McGee gave up a hit and a walk and tallied a strikeout in an inning of work.

Wade Davis made his Colorado Rockies spring debut and worked a very quick 1-2-3 inning, needing to throw just seven pitches.

Harrison Musgrave allowed a base hit over two innings and Brooks Pounders pitched a clean inning with a strikeout.

Youngster Ryan Castellani made his first start in MLB camp and it was a rude introduction, getting knocked around for three runs on five hits and a walk, needing to be removed before finishing the inning. Shane Broyles collected the final out but the rally secured the Brewers win.
