The Colorado Rockies have acquired right-handed reliever Pat Neshek from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for Jose Gomez, J.D. Hammer, and Alejandro Requena. Tyler Anderson has been placed on the 60-day Disabled List.

The Rockies also received cash in the deal.

Neshek is a side-winding veteran who has posted a 1.12 ERA so far over 40.1 IP this season. He is in the final year of his contract.

This is an incredible deal for the Rockies who were able to acquire a reliever who can immediately step into the back of their bullpen without giving up anything close to any of their top prospects.

Colorado desperately needed help in the form of a right-handed reliever and Neshek should have been near the very top of their list, to get him for this price is about as good a deal the Rockies could have hoped for at this point in time.

Neshek is a two-time All-Star who has appeared in the postseason in four different seasons. In 466 career relief appearances, Neshek has a 2.76 ERA  with 125 walks to 423 strikeouts.
