Recruiting season is upon us, friends.
Colorado State Rams men’s basketball landed 6-foot-7 guard/forward Leon Gilmore III on Monday, and they’re hot on the trail of landing another similar, tall wing player.
According to Eduardo Martinez, Larry Eustachy and Ross Hodge’s visit to recruit Diatta (pronounced Pop Gee-ah-da) has paid off in an official visit by the young man, scheduled for next Thursday, April 7.

Diatta has played the last two seasons for the College of Southern Illinois, a junior college, and improved dramatically this season.
In 2014-15, he played in 34 games with 7.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Last season, his numbers increased to 13.0 PPG, 8.3 RPG and 2.0 APG. He’s that combo guard type player the Rams hope can perform like Stanton Kidd did in 2014-15, an inside and out presence with athleticism.
He certainly uses his size and long legs to get into the lane with ease, possesses solid ball-handling skills considering his size and knows how to get his teammates open looks at the hoop.

According to Greenandgoldnews.com, Diatta has offers from Loyola, Oregon State, Georgia, Penn State and Nevada is interested.
