Just under three hours remain until the first pick of the 2017 NBA draft is announced and trade talks have begun transforming from murmurs into screams.
Jeff Goodman of ESPN just dropped a bombshell that the Denver Nuggets have contacted the Chicago Bulls about what it would take to acquire Jimmy Butler.
Goodman references that a deal would include multiple young players, not Nikola Jokic, as well as multiple draft picks. What is not explained is which team referenced the framework of a deal.
Denver has tried acquiring star power multiple times over the past five years and this seems to be the next chapter in that pursuit. With the Nuggets having young talent in Gary Harris, Jamal Murray, Juancho Hernangomez, and Emmanuel Mudiay to go with the 13th pick in the draft, and all future 1st round picks still owned Denver does have the assets to pull off a deal if Chicago so desires.
