The Denver Nuggets are close to hiring Calvin Booth as their assistant general manager, according to Altitude Sports’ Christopher Dempsey.
Booth, 41, was most recently the director of pro personnel in Minnesota and before that held a similar title in Cleveland. The hire is likely to replace Jared Jeffries, Denver’s former director of player personnel who was named president of Echo Fox, a professional eSports organization, earlier this summer.
Booth played 10 seasons in the NBA from 1999-2009 for seven different franchises. He averaged a career high 7.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Mavericks during the 2000-01 season. He’s a native of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, played college basketball at Penn State, was Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and All-Big Ten Second Team as a senior.
