Hummel, 27, spent last season in Italy with Olimpia Milano where he averaged 8.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game across both the Euroleague and Italian League. Prior to joining Milano Hummel played sporadic minutes for the Minnesota Timberwolves over the last two seasons. The 6-foot-9 swingman appeared in 45 games (four starts) for Minnesota in 2015-16 and averaged 4.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, shot 45.9 percent from the field, and 31.4 percent from 3-point range.
Add Hummel to a growing list that includes Axel Toupane, JaKarr Sampson, D.J. Kennedy and Nate Wolters who will all compete for Denver’s 15th and final roster spot.
Expect Hummel’s two-year deal to include little guaranteed money.
