Gee, 29, played 39 games with the Nuggets in 2014-15 and averaged 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game. The 6-foot-6 wing is a career 32.7 percent shooter from three, but shot the ball well from distance with Denver, converting on 41.7 of his 3-point attempts during the 2015 season.
Gee spent the 2015-16 season in New Orleans and averaged 4.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 22.4 minutes per games but lost out on the Pelicans’ final roster spot to Lance Stephenson this year.
The Nuggets were in search of depth on the wing after Michael Malone announced today that Gary Harris will miss up to four weeks with a foot injury. Sixth man Will Barton is still sidelined with an ankle injury that’s caused him to miss Denver’s last seven games but is questionable for Wednesday’s matchup with Phoenix.
Gee is viewed across the league as a defensive specialist, bruiser, and energy player.
