The Nuggets are hiring Orlando Magic assistant coach David Adelman, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Adelman is the son of former head coach Rick Adelman and began his career as a player development coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2011 under his father. Adelman spent five years with the Timberwolves before arriving in Orlando prior to the start of the 2016-17 season.
Earlier this summer, Denver hired front office executive Calvin Booth as the team’s new assistant general manager to replace Jared Jeffries. Jeffries left the team in July and was named president of Rick Fox‘s esports organization Echo Fox. Booth and Adelman worked together in Minnesota for three seasons.
The Nuggets also hired longtime NBA assistant Bob Weiss in August.
Adelman would join Weiss, along with Jordi Fernandez, Ryan Bowen, Wes Unseld Jr. and Micah Nori on head coach Michael Malone’s staff.
