Without a doubt, Rashard Higgins is the biggest thing at Colorado State since Sonny Lubick.
“Hollywood” Higgins is an incredibly talented receiver, but he’s also got that winning personality and smile; he’s the face of CSU football in 2015.
Of course, it’s no surprise the school has given him so much attention, with his own “Hollywood” Higgins popcorn and the rolling out of his own website as the receiver was the school’s first consensus All-American in 20 years. 1,750 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns? It’s incredible production.
Some think he’ll repeat the performance, or at least come close. On Monday, ESPN named Higgins a preseason All-American, while CBS Sports gave him a second-team nod last week. Sporting News and Athlon Sports also have him as a preseason All-American. And he was named the Mountain West preseason Offensive Player of the Year.
The love doesn’t end there, Higgins is on the watch list for the Belitnikoff Trophy, the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watch list and the Maxwell Award.
Big-time production last year has led to massive expectations this season. Can “Hollywood” Higgins handle the load? We think so.
