Mohamed Kamara has the attention of the NFL Draft world. 

Coming off of a dominant 2023 season in which Kamara was one of the most productive edge rushers in the country, the former Colorado State superstar has further elevated his professional stock with a successful pre-draft process that included strong showings at both the East-West Shrine Game and the NFL Combine. 

Now with only one week until the 2024 NFL Draft begins, multiple experts have gone on record in support of the 6-foot-1, 250-pound quarterback killer. 

In a recent conference call with Denver media, Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network was highly complimentary of the legendary Ram. 

“I’m a Kamara guy,” Jeremiah said. 

The long-time analyst cited Kamara’s 2023 production which included 13 sacks, 17 tackles for loss and a pair of forced fumbles. He also hyped up Kamara’s pass-rushing abilities, pointing out that despite being a little undersized, “Mo” is a guy that has big-time burst. 

“The Colorado game was the first game I watched where he basically took the game over,” Jeremiah said. 

“Outside my top 50, Chris Braswell is my first edge rusher, and Kamara is my second. I have him in the early third round range, maybe late second round range. I’m a Mohamed Kamara fan, and there are teams around the league who feel exactly the same way. I don’t believe he’s getting out of day two, let’s put it that way.”

Jeremiah is not the only NFL Network analyst to shout out Kamara this week. In a video breakdown posted by Brian Baldinger, the renowned talent evaluator highlighted how quick Kamara can be in tight spaces. He’s not the most overwhelming player in terms of sheer size, but what he lacks there, he makes up for with speed and power. 

“You know, he had like 29 sacks over the last three years, but it’s (also) tackles for loss, it’s sacks, it’s safeties, it’s fumble recoveries for touchdowns, it’s everything. The guy makes football plays,” Baldinger said. 

“You can plug and play him in a lot of different defenses, and you’re going to find success.”

Ram fans were fortunate to watch Kamara in Fort Collins for five years. During that time he racked up 179 total tackles, 45.5 tackles for loss and 30.5 sacks in what will go down as one of the most impressive collegiate careers by any CSU pass rusher ever. 

We’ve seen former CSU legends like Clark Haggans, Joey Porter and Shaq Barrett go on to have highly successful careers in the NFL in the past. Kamara seems to be the next in line to go from starring on Saturdays in the Green & Gold to showing out on Sundays. 

No matter where he lands, I’d imagine we’ll see quite a few Kamara jerseys in the stands of Canvas Stadium over the next decade.
