Football season is finally on the horizon.
After what’s felt like a never-ending offseason — months of projection, speculation and hypotheticals, every angle dissected and broken down, and every shortcoming from the last 20 years reinspected in hopes of finding some answers — the 2026 season, Colorado State’s first in the Pac-12, is mercifully here at last.
Though there are no guarantees in this chaotic sport, we all sign up for the possibility of heartbreak in pursuit of glory, there’s a buzz around this 2026 season that feels different.
For the first time since at least before the 2025 Northern Colorado game, a debacle that killed the collective spirit of CSU Football before we even made it out of September, it feels like there is, at least close to, unanimous buy-in throughout Ram Nation.
Much of that hope is the result of the hiring of Jim Mora, a veteran football coach who has won just about everywhere he has been. There is also a belief in talent of the quarterbacks, though, that elevates the intrigue for what the Rams can be.
