FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Todd Centeio announced on Twitter Monday morning that he intends to finish his collegiate career as a Colorado State Ram.

After spending his first three seasons at the University of Temple, Centeio tweeted that he will be pursuing his master’s degree and playing his final two years of eligibility at CSU. Centeio also posted that he is excited to get to Fort Collins in May and to seize this new opportunity.

Due to receiving a medical redshirt in 2017, if Centeio can finish up his degree at Temple this spring, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound, QB would be able to come in and play immediately for the Rams. Obviously, Patrick O’Brien will be the frontrunner going in but Cenetio’s ability to extend the play with his legs is definitely intriguing for a program that has not had a mobile quarterback in years.

Regardless of what Centeio’s role will be this fall — starter, backup or a guy that comes in to change up the pace — adding an athletic quarterback with real game experience is a no-brainer for the new staff, especially with Collin Hill following Mike Bobo to South Carolina this winter.

In total, Centeio has attempted 71 passes and he’s completed 48 of them (67.6 percent). The dual-threat quarterback out of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., averaged 8.6 yards per completion at Temple and has thrown six more touchdowns than interceptions in his career (7 touchdowns vs.  1 interception). Centeio also rushed the ball 71 times for 235 yards and reached the end zone with his legs once.
