It’s hard to believe we’re already to the midway point of the 2026 football season. Now halfway through Jim Mora’s first campaign with the Green & Gold, though, there’s been a lot of emotional whiplash and conflicting feelings for a fanbase that so desperately hopes to see him succeed.
After a 2-0 start out of the gate, including a statement win over Wyoming, the last month and a half has not gone nearly as smoothly for Colorado State.
Going into the Week 8 game versus San Diego State, the Rams are rocking a four-game losing streak — the seventh time in the last 10 years where the team has lost at least three games in a row, including five times in the last six seasons alone.
Perhaps more discouraging than the actual losing streak itself is that CSU is seemingly trending the wrong direction since the start of Pac-12 play. The Rams were far from perfect in the non-conference slate, but at least looked competitive in the games they were expected to be in.
Since Pac-12 games began, the defense has forced one punt over the past two weeks, which is why it’s unsurprising CSU has lost those matchups by an average margin of 34.5 points.
