Hold onto your seats, Ram fans, today is set to be a huge one in terms of recruiting for Colorado State Rams football.
Yesterday, head coach Mike Bobo tweeted twice about the “BOOM,” and then once this morning, building excitement around the program. Now we know who he may have been referring to.

That “BOOM” player? Ryan Glover, a dual-threat, 3-star quarterback out of College Park, GA.

According to his HUDL page, Glover is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback who can run a 4.65 40-yard dash. As a sophomore, Glover played in only five games, going 7-9 for 105 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 26 yards in 2014.
Last year, as a junior, Glover was the full-time starter for his Woodward Academy. In 14 games played, he completed 158-256 passes (61.7 percent) for 2,740 yards. That included 26 passing touchdowns compared to only 5 interceptions, and one was a 92-yard scoring throw. Glover, a dual-threat QB, also ran for 392 yards and six touchdowns in 2015.
His highlight video from 2015 (below) shows great touch on the deep ball which went 92 yards, leading his receiver perfectly for the giant touchdown. On the next play, he drops another perfect dime into the hands of his receiver off a play-action fake. Then, he shows off his speed on a read-option, slicing through the defense for a running score and on the next highlight hits his receiver in stride on a slant route. Overall, his highlight tape shows Glover has the ability to do many things with the football as a versatile quarterback, but his best trait is a giant arm and an ability to throw with superb touch.
According to Ryan Krous of Rivals, Glover was a top target for Colorado State football. His Twitter profile (@rg2point0) suggests the dual-threat youngster believes he’s a newer version of RG3; Ram fans could go for that, certainly. Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy in 2011 after scoring 57 combined touchdowns that season.

One thing is for sure, while Faton Bauta and Nick Stevens’ quarterback battle is heating up for this season, 2017 looks to be more of the same with Stevens, Colin Hill as well as Glover all likely competing to start under center for CSU at Sonny Lubick Field at the on-campus stadium.
