Colorado State picked up a verbal commitment from Dallin Holker on Thursday night. 

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end began his career at BYU and recorded 42 receptions for 521 yards and three touchdowns over 22 total games between 2018-2022. 

His best season statistically was his freshman campaign when he had 19 catches for 235 yards back in 2018. After serving a mission for the Church of Latter Day Saints, Holker averaged two catches per contest in seven games played as a sophomore in 2021. And as a junior this fall, Holker played in the first three games, recording nine catches for 86 yards before leaving the team to preserve his eligibility. 

Holker comes to Fort Collins with two years of eligibility remaining and gives the team experience at the tight end position after losing Tanner Arkin to the portal. The 2022 preseason All-Mountain West selection elected to transfer out of the program and recently announced he will sign with Illinois. 

Holker was rated a three-star recruit by all of the major sites coming out of high school, but he did receive an offer from CSU before he signed with BYU. His other recruiting interests included Hawaii, Kansas, Nebraska, Utah State and UCLA. 

Prior to his collegiate career, Holker had a strong run at Lehi High School and even won a state championship as a senior (2018). That season he totaled 97 catches for 1,766 yards and 22 touchdown receptions — the second-most in state history — despite missing a couple of games due to injury. Between his junior and senior seasons, Holker had 202 catches for 3,061 yards and 33 touchdowns. 

In addition to football, Holker also played basketball in high school and averaged 13.4 points and 6.3 rebounds as a senior. 

His wife, Taye, will also be transferring from BYU and will be competing for CSU in track & field. She set the Utah 4A state record for long jump and was a state champion as well (2019).
