There is a whole lot of new for Colorado State in 2026. Not only is CSU Football playing in a new conference, and for a new coach, but there’s also about 70 new players who Ram fans are going to need to try and learn by the start of September.

We recently went through some of the players on offense that will need to be difference makers in year one of the Jim Mora era. Now let’s talk about some of the transfer additions who will need to have productive seasons on the defensive side.

(JACK) Brandon Kelley

Brandon Kelley does not have a ton of statistical production at this point in his career. But after spending three seasons playing for Mora at UConn, he might just be poised for a breakout year in Fort Collins.

A big, strong pass rusher with deceptive quickness, Kelley has consistently stood out going back to the spring. He’s a handful coming downhill and just seems to have a nose for the football. I’m quite intrigued by what he can be for the CSU defense in 2026.

In 12 career appearances, Kelley has 16 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Can he double that for the Rams in 2026?
