The Border War is one of the most unique rivalries in all of college football.
A series that dates back to the late 1800’s, and has been played without interruption since World War II, not even Vietnam, the Cold War or COVID-19 could stop these two teams from meeting on the gridiron.
With more than just the Bronze Boot on the line — one of the coolest traveling trophies in the sport, by the way — this game is really about pride at its core.

Two teams with genuine hate for each other, two communities separated by only 65 miles, it’s about being able to have bragging rights in a rivalry that plays out in our daily lives the other 364 days a year. While neither side will ever concede or give an inch of respect to the other, any banter back and forth can always be trumped by “we’ve got the boot”.
Despite the evolution of the sport in recent years and the departure of Colorado State to the Pac-12, while Wyoming stays put in the Mountain West, the Border War will always be the most important game on the schedule to old school Ram fans. And as a sucker for the history of the game, it’s definitely one of my favorite subjects to write about.
Here are five unforgettable Border War wins from CSU Football.
