Fill Hughes!
That’s the battle cry from the Colorado State Rams football team this week as the Boise State Broncos come to Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium in fantastic Fort Collins.

“Hollywood” and KPL will be there, and they want you to be too.
As of Thursday afternoon, the school said 23,500 total tickets were sold, with 4,500 free student tickets being picked up during the week. That left 5,500 student tickets waiting to be claimed. As of Friday, Rams media relations updated the numbers to 25,342 total tickets sold, 6,021 of them being students.
That means nearly 4,000 student tickets are still waiting for current students to pick them up at the stadium or simply download them online.
This Saturday’s contest represents Colorado State’s first home game since Sept. 12, their Week 2 overtime 20-23 loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers. It’s also the team’s annual “Pink Out” as they encourage those in attendance to wear pink in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Halftime will also bring a ceremony to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of the 1990 Freedom Bowl win over Oregon.
CSU is currently 2-3 after losing their Mountain West Conference opener versus Utah State 18-33 in Logan, Utah last Saturday. Two turnovers, as well as a litany of costly, timely penalties sank the Rams chances of winning on the road.
Boise State enters this week’s game at 4-1 overall, enjoying three straight weeks of scoring in the 52-plus points. They blew out Idaho State 52-0, beat Virginia 56-14 and then last Saturday, shut out Hawaii to the tune of 55-0. The Broncos are a major thorn in the Rams’ side; Boise State beat CSU last year in Idaho, which kept the green and gold from making the MW Championship game despite winning nine straight after the loss.
On top of that, the Rams need a win this week simply to right the ship and even their record up at 3-3. Colorado State’s defense has been superb this season at stopping opponents from converting on third downs, with an eighth-best in the nation 25.7 percent conversion rate. The Rams will have to hope to stop remarkable running back Jeremy McNichols, who is second nationally with 10 rushing touchdowns and 12 total.
Offensively, Boise State ranks first in total offense (459.4) and passing yards (267.2) in the Mountain West, while Colorado State is second in both marks (442.2 and 264.8). The Broncos also average 40.6 points per game, with CSU at 32.0 per contest; it all adds up to a likely huge offensive day Saturday.
CSU will need as much fan support as possible, and tickets still remain as No. 24 Boise State comes to the Fort tomorrow, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. MDT. So, fill Hughes!
For students it’s as easy as going online and printing them out.
