Ryan Stonehouse is projected to once again be the best punter in the Mountain West. On Monday, as part of the MW Media Days, Stonehouse was named preseason first-team All-Mountain West.
In 2018, Stonehouse led the league and ranked second nationally in gross average at 48.3. The average was a single-season record for a Colorado State punter and resulted with the then-sophomore earning first-team All-Mountain West honors.
Along with Stonehouse being recognized individually, the annual conference predictions from the league media were announced. The Rams are projected to finish fifth in the Mountain Division with 52 points.
“Based on our performance last year, this seems about right. You are what your record says you are, and we won two Mountain West games,” Mike Bobo said in a release.
“We feel good about the progress we’ve made through our EDGE program and summer conditioning. The numbers show our players are faster and they’ve gotten stronger. We believe we can be a really good football team, but we have to go out and prove it on the field.”
