FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Steve Addazio and his staff are not wasting any time filling out the 2021 recruiting class. The Rams now have 10 verbals that are public — and based on the staff’s recent Twitter activity, it seems very likely that the number will grow before the end of the week.

Colorado State’s most recent commitment, Gerick Robinson, is a versatile athlete out of Las Vegas. Listed at 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, Robinson is on the smaller side for a Division 1 player. That said, with the ability to line up at wide receiver, return kicks, or play cornerback, Robinson certainly is an intriguing prospect for the Rams.

In 14 games with Centennial High School last fall, Robinson recorded 968 yards on 59 receptions, averaging 16.4 yards per catch for the season. What really stands out on paper, though, is the fact that he was able to triple his touchdown production from the year before. After scoring three touchdowns in 11 games as a sophomore, Robinson brought his career total to 12 with nine more during his junior campaign.

Along with his nine receiving touchdowns in 2019, Robinson also was able to contribute a pair of touchdowns via special teams — one coming on a punt return and the other on a kickoff.  Last but not least, on the defensive side Robinson recorded 12 total tackles (10 solo) and five pass deflections as a DB.

According to 247Sports, Robinson’s only other current offer is from the University of Idaho, however, he is receiving interest from a variety of power programs around the country.

Robinson’s commitment comes on the heels of a very successful recruiting effort for the Rams last week.

On Monday, May 4, CSU was able to add a couple of commitments for the backfield with Alex Berrouet (Massachusetts) and Patrick Smith (New Jersey) each announcing their intent to sign with the Rams. Along with the backs, though, CSU was also able to secure a verbal from an extremely speedy local athlete, Langston Williams, out of Eaglecrest High School in Centennial, Colo.

Then, on Friday, May 8, CSU kept the fun going with another verbal — this time, from local offensive lineman, Justin Michael. (No, I’m not making this up.)

Michael is currently the starting left tackle for Poudre High School in Fort Collins. And in a recent interview with DNVR Rams, the 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive lineman explained how the opportunity to stay close to his family and play for a great staff was just too good to pass up — even after receiving interest from a variety of programs in the Ivy League as well as Hawaii, Nevada and Wyoming.

“CSU has huge upside for me with coach Addazio being so good. He’s one of the best o-line coaches in the nation so it was the right decision for me,” Michael said.
