Rams Recruiting Update: CSU receives verbal from 6-foot-4 offensive tackle out of Florida

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Colorado State football has stayed true to the recruiting vision laid out by head coach Steve Addazio this spring.

The Rams have been extremely aggressive in Colorado, California, Texas and Florida — and thus far, it’s obvious that the plan has worked out well for the green and gold.

On Monday morning, the Rams picked up a second verbal commitment from the Sunshine State. Kyjuan Phillips, a 6-foot-4, 293-pound offensive tackle out of Dr. Phillips High School in Dr. Phillips, Fla., posted about his intent to sign with CSU on his Twitter page.

According to 247Sports, Phillips has at least 11 other Division 1 offers. Some of the schools interested in him include Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic and Pittsburgh. After receiving an offer from the Rams in early May, though, it seems that Addazio and the staff were able to convince Phillips that taking his talents out west is the best move for his future.

As the class currently sits, the Rams have three commits for the offensive line. Between some of the younger talent already on the roster and the increasing amount of players being recruited by Addazio, the position battles in the trenches should be fun to keep an eye on in the coming seasons.
