Rams Recruiting Update: CSU enters the Big Apple

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Colorado State football picked up a verbal commitment from Elijah Muhammad on Friday.

In a note posted on Muhammad’s Twitter account, the three-star linebacker from Middle Village, New York, thanked God as well as his family, friends, coaches and high school teammates before announcing his commitment to the green and gold.

In the same post, Muhammad also explained that he chose May 29 as the date to announce his commitment because it’s his mother’s birthday.

According to 247Sports and Muhammad’s Twitter page, the outside linebacker currently holds at least seven Division 1 offers. Along with CSU, Buffalo, Central Michigan, the University of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Temple are all interested in the east coast linebacker’s talents.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, Muhammad already has the ideal frame for a D1 outside linebacker. More importantly, though, Muhammad has already shown that he can produce. Over the course of the last two seasons he has averaged 7.5 tackles per game and recorded 6.5 total sacks.

With the addition of Muhammad, Steve Addazio and his staff have now secured 15 verbal commits from 11 different states.
