FORT COLLINS — Tanner Morley is the first local prospect to commit to Colorado State for the 2023 recruiting cycle. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive tackle posted the news on Twitter Monday evening, making him the Rams’ fourth verbal commitment in total and the third to announce within the last 24 hours.

“CSU has taken me in as one of (their) own and I can’t wait for what the future holds. With all that being said, I would like to announce my commitment to Colorado State University! Let’s go Rams!

According to 247Sports, Morley also holds offers from Northern Colorado and New Mexico State. His Twitter page also shows an offer from Portland State, though, in addition to recruiting interest from Kansas State, Tulsa and Wyoming.

Morley, just like WR Stephon Daily and DE Andrew Laurich, each visited campus over the weekend. So, it’s encouraging to see that Jay Norvell and Co. are making the most of a busy month in the recruiting world.

A couple of other prospects that visited between June 10-12 are DE Caden Wiest, EDGE Broderick Jonhnson, and OL Misael Sandoval. Wiest is a three-star defensive lineman out of Missouri and is being recruited by Army and Central Michigan, among others. Johnson does not have a ranking on 247Sports, but currently holds an offer from Montana State, where defensive coordinator Freddie Banks and linebackers coach Adam Pilapil both spent last season. Sandovol, on the other hand, holds offers from New Mexico State and Nevada, but was also recruited by Bill Best (O-line coach) while he was with the Wolf Pack.

Ultimately it’s still early in the process, so we’ll see what happens with the aforementioned. Any time you can land three verbal commitments in 24 hours, though, it’s definitely an encouraging sign. Plus, the great thing is we’re still only halfway through June.

In addition to football, Morley wrestles and competes in track and field at Valor Christian HS. He also makes videos on Tik-Tok.
