It’s been a long, tumultuous season for the Colorado State Rams men’s basketball team, but it’s also been one to remember.
For Antwan Scott, he can always remember 2015-16 as the year he was finally able to show off his talents, and Scott was named second-team All-Mountain West on Sunday by the media voters. Also honored was Emmanuel Omogbo and Tiel Daniels, each were named as honorable mentions.
Scott was a sensational scorer for Colorado State this season, shooting 3-pointers effortlessly, while also using his quickness to beat defenders off the dribble and attack the hoop. When his teammate and the team’s leading scorer Gian Clavell went down with a broken hand and shoulder tear early in the campaign, Scott was there to pick up the slack.
Taking out Clavell’s 20.8 points per game, Scott’s 16.4 PPG were No. 1 on the Rams. Some of his most memorable games this year included the overtime performance to push CSU over Abilene Christian in double overtime, his 35-point game against Utah State and his 30-burger against Nevada.
Earlier in the year we brought you this interview with Scott, who used basketball as a way to heal following his mother’s tragic death. And, due to that tragedy, found his way down the long, hard road to Fort Collins for his superb, redshirt senior season.
Here’s a look at Scott during Senior Day, yesterday, overcome with emotions:

Of course, Omogbo also went through a tragedy of his own this season, losing four family members in a house fire. As for Tiel Daniels, the senior power forward was finally able to shine brightly this season on both ends of the floor.
