Just when you thought Colorado State might have been done securing receivers for a while, coach Mike Bobo got a commit from maybe the most dynamic of the bunch.

According to Ryan Krous of Scout.com, former Tennessee receiver and class of 2015 five-star Preston Williams committed to CSU.

The Volunteers list Williams as a 6-foot-4 209-pounder from Lovejoy High School in Georgia. Coming out of high school, he was Scout’s top-rated receiver in the country.

Krous tweeted that he was a major recruiting target for Bobo during his time at Georgia.

In his freshman season of 2015, Williams caught seven passes for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was also named the SEC Freshman of the Week in mid-September.

Williams transferred last month, but before that, grabbed nine receptions for 89 yards as a Volunteer in 2016.

The Georgia native will join Kalem Reddix, Demarre Kitt, along with returners Michael Gallup, Olabisi Johnson, Anthony Hawkins and others to form a receiving unit that not only Mountain West teams will envy, but a number of FBS schools across the country.

The commitment of Williams begs the question of whether there will be enough footballs to go around in upcoming seasons, but more importantly, it points to what Bobo is trying to do with CSU as a program.

The second-year coach has repeatedly said how he wants guys to make more plays, especially on the offensive side of the ball. It’s clear that he’s investing in having multiple playmaking threats for the benefit of his quarterback.
