ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos are adding a Bowlen to their team.

Brittany Bowlen will return to work for her father Pat’s team and organization as the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives on Monday, Dec. 2, DNVR was informed on Monday morning.

Brittany, 29, is Pat Bowlen’s fifth child, and he and Annabel Bowlen’s third. It has long been believed that Brittany was the frontrunner of the seven kids in the eyes of the Trust to eventually take over ownership of Pat’s team.

With the news of Brittany rejoining the team on Monday, President and CEO Joe Ellis made a strong statement in that regard.

“Brittany is working toward earning the right to succeed her father, and this is the next step in that process,” Ellis stated. “Given her work experience and depth of knowledge, we’re looking forward to Brittany returning to work for the Broncos and adding value across our organization.”

This is significant for two reasons. The first is Ellis is one of three members of the Pat Bowlen Trust, which is currently running the organization. The second, and most importantly, is this is the first time the trust has given any official indication as to which children they are seriously considering turning the team over to.

As Brittany attempts to prove she is capable of taking over her father’s team, she’ll be based out of the offices at Empower Field at Mile High and will report to Mac Freeman, the Chief Commercial Officer, and Justin Webster, the Chief Financial Officer.

Brittany’s role will have five main areas of focus: Overseeing aspects of the south development project at the stadium, developing a strategy to improving overall fan experience, collaborating with departments on business analytics, creating a sustainable approach to workplace culture, diversity and inclusion and, finally, watching industry trends and recommending best practices.

Brittany joins the Broncos after spending a year at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Before that she earned her MBA from Duke in 2018 after graduating from Notre Dame in 2013.

This won’t be her first experience working for her father’s team. In 2015, she was a business analyst for the team after spending two years working for the NFL directly after graduating college.

Brittany is also on the board of Duke’s Fuqua School of business as well as the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver.
