The Broncos introduced their latest offensive weapon at Dove Valley this afternoon.

Kubiak sung the praises of his longtime player in his opening remarks, and seems thrilled to have him join the Broncos.

“I’ve watched him when he came into Houston as a former quarterback and turned himself not only into a tight end, but a heck of a tight end in this league and a heck of a player.” Kubiak said. “He’s an even better person. So I’m very proud. I want players on this football team to know that he’s a heck of a teammate, and that’s extremely important to us. We’re glad to have him. I sat down with John about three weeks ago. We were talking about free agency and his name came up, and I really just said two things to John. I said, ‘You know, John, you can look at the film and judge for yourself. But I can tell you two things: He’s going to give you everything he has and he wants to win a championship, and that’s the type of player you want on your football team.’”

Daniels shared Kubiak’s excitement, reuniting with him in Denver.

Daniels said the Ravens tried to make a late push for him, but there was only one destination on his mind. “Like I mentioned before, it’s kind of an ideal situation. Once he took the job here that was definitely a team on my radar since I was going to be a free agent. Being able to come and experience a city and this organization and continue my time with Coach Kubiak and (Tight Ends Coach) Brian Pariani and the staff that ‘Kube’ puts together, is something I really couldn’t pass up.”

In Daniels, the Broncos are getting a veteran already familiar with the system Kubiak wants to put in place, and a championship winning attitude.

Kubiak wasn’t the only selling point for Daniels, having a hall of fame quarterback might’ve helped a bit too. “That was a factor in coming here, for sure.” Daniels said. “I’m very, very excited to play with Peyton. I’ve gotten to meet him a couple times at Pro Bowls in the past, so I have a little bit of a feel for him, but I’m looking to get to work with him and building that chemistry so we can have a great year.”

He’ll get a chance to start building that chemistry before the team has their first official workouts this summer.

In Daniels, the Broncos are getting a veteran already familiar with the system Kubiak wants to put in place, and a championship winning attitude. Daniels along with the recently re-signed Virgil Green, should make for a solid tight end tandem in 2015.
