One possession from the Nuggets' win in Milwaukee shows the future of Mile High Basketball

The Denver Nuggets 110-98 win over the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday was significant for many reasons, but the main line item was that the Nuggets finally were able to clinch a back-to-back two-game road sweep, something they haven’t done in quite some time.

Nikola Jokic‘s second-straight and fourth career triple-double, Danilo Gallinari‘s post All-Star break resurgence and Wilson Chandler‘s back-to-back stalwart defensive performances again Jimmy Butler Tuesday and Giannis Antetokounmpo Wednesday stand out as well, but there was one singular play you can point to that truly exemplifies this Nuggets team and what they’ve become this season.

This half-court sequence, which included nine passes in 12 seconds, one behind-the-back and one cross-court whip from Jokic ending in a Gary Harris dunk, is the perfect microcosm for this Nuggets team playing at their peak level.

“Everybody wants to share the ball,” Jokic said after the win.

That possession would have made the Spurs and coach Gregg Popovich jealous.

“It’s definitely contagious. Playing that way is contagious,” Malone said of Jokic’s passing in January. “Everybody is trying to make the right play and when everybody’s involved and when everybody feels like they’re a part of it, you’re much more willing to do so.”

Jokic is Denver’s catalyst, but once he gets going, his mindset seeps into the thoughts of most of the players up and down the Nuggets’ roster. Expect more sequences like the one above for years to come, as long as Jokic stays around.

Oh, and this one-handed between the legs dime with a little bit of english from Jokic to Jamal Murray in the corner wasn’t half bad either.

The Nuggets closed out the Bucks late in the fourth quarter and moved to 28-33 on the year and three games up on the Kings, Timberwolves, and Trailblazers for the eighth seed in the West, their biggest margin in quite some time.
