1. If he truly lost the locker room, it had to be done.
2. Growth. I was one of Malone’s biggest doubters for years, but Moach and the guys all grew together into Champions!!
“Take that L on the way out” will remain a Nuggets catchphrase forever.
3. Didn’t realize there is much more to building a TEAM than adding and removing players, until it was way too late if at all.

I disagree with the assessment of Booth. There is absolutely no way to say he’s philosophy would not work if it was not implemented by Malone. I was the biggest defender of Malone, but I think his unwillingness to develop the younger guys has now put the team in a unenviable position. We’ve essentially lost a year and a half of potential player development to even assess if they are rotational players.
While Malone is a media darling with his ability to control the room and wonderful one liners. I think it important to view is tenure here in totality. He’s a championship coach, but he had flaws in his inability to see the “win now and from now on”.
