Fascinating soliloquy. The first four games, including the win vs. Houston, have on the one hand been as rough to watch as seeing a beautiful car smash into a wall, but a joy when watching Jokic display his artistry. None of knows how this edition of the Nuggets will perform at season’s end, but the journey is going to be more fascinating than watching a well oiled machine operate through the year. That is going to be my focus going forward. Can Malone subordinate his tendencies for the good of the team. Can Jokic and Murray learn how to find Porter when all three are playing? Can Barton get back to his prior form? Can the bench perform? Every year the bench is extolled as being quite good, but in fact it’s been lousy for three straight years. Finally, the season may make us evaluate Connelly in a different manner. His inability to do well in free agency is not his fault. Being good at drafts isn’t enough though. He has to learn how to become a master at the trade game, and know when to give up assets when they are at the optimal value. I’m out.
