1) Eric’s “Yeahhhh!” during his intro sounds like he is a character from Sesame Street being introduced. If Eric was a Sesame Street character who would he be and why is it Oscar the Grouch.
2) During this podcast (April 7th) the clapping at the beginning of the video caught me so off guard that I thought it was gunfire in my suburban Fort Collins neighborhood. Gave me a heart attack haha
3) If you had to make a starting 5 out of the DNVR podcasters/writers/hosts/reporters who would get the start in the local city league?

It’s lonely out here in cyber space, being one of the very few people posting a question.

I want to provide feedback on two recent podcasts by Adam and Matt Moore in which they discussed Jamal Murray and Will Barton.

There were sound reasons after his third season to be doubtful that Jamal could ever develop into a special point guard. His lack of court vision, failure to get the ball moving early in the possession, and mediocre ball handling make it unlikely he will become great in that role. Despite exciting flurries of high scoring games, there is also little to support a contention that he could become a premier shooting guard, although that is certainly his natural position. Adam’s punctuation of Jamal’s utter disregard for improving his defense is well stated. Under the most optimistic conditions he could develop into the team’s third best player as a shooting guard. More realistically he would be the fourth best player on a championship contenter.

George Karl is right: to unlock the Nuggets’ potential they desperately need a high-end point guard who can score. The only nice thing about giving Jamal a maximum contract is that it helps match up salaries with a top-tier player the Nuggets may target in a trade that includes Jamal, another player or two, and a couple of number one draft picks. But who knows if Tim Connelly is willing to put together the necessary assets to make this happen? Matt thinks he is, and I hope he’s right.

Matt projects that next season the starting lineup will be Jokic, Grant, Barton, Murray, and Porter, and that Harris will be traded. It seems incongruent to me that a Harris trade packaged with other assets (perhaps including Barton) wouldn’t result in a high-end starter joining the Nuggets. If the starting lineup is the five mentioned, which means that Murray will remain the point guard, they will be better thanks to MPJ, but they are not going to be championship contenders.

Murray is the weak link in that line-up, both in terms of talent and contract value. He can be an offensive dynamo for 15 games a year, but he can’t do it for 50 games. Even if he becomes more consistent at scoring, which I doubt, he’s not going to have the skills to be a premier starting point guard. I’m out.

Sunday is most definitely the end of the week. I don’t go to church so mostly spent my childhood Sundays lounging and eating a late breakfast for a fitting ed to the week. Then Monday is back to work/school and reality. I have to believe the vast majority of people in this country consider Monday to be the beginning of the week.
