In this episode, Adam Mares discusses 5 positives that can come out of the Denver Nuggets being forced to play so shorthanded. Then, he looks at the challenge facing Tim Connelly as the trade deadline approaches and explains why, as good as he’s been building this roster over the last 5 years, this trade deadline will test him in ways he has yet to be tested. And lastly, he answers questions that were submitted on theDNVR.com including whether or not we should change our opinion about Denver’s title odds over the next few seasons now that MPJ has emerged as a potential star.

What can the Nuggets do to make Jamal play more off ball when he returns from injury?
I don’t feel his further improvement should involve him having ball in his hands more while Jokić is their de facto playmaker. If both Porter and Murray would strech and cut it could make them very hard to guard.

Question on the silver lining of Mason being out. Last year in the playoffs, Mason was darned near unplayable – with the Nuggets getting out scored by 15 points per 100 possessions when he was on the court. Do we think that was an aberration or is Mason more of an “82 game player”? If we think he would drop out of a playoff rotation, what do we see as an ideal playoff big rotation – and can we test that out now?

Keep up with good work. I think we win Rockets ?
Hey fellas,
With all the injuries on the roster, what is a reasonable expectation for the Nuggets record before the All-Star break? Where does that put them in the Western Conference? Does that sink him enough to put them around the 5th or 6th seed come play-off time? I’m thinking 7-5 over the next 12 games if my math is working right today.
