When it comes to Porter, isn’t it possible he isn’t physically ready enough to play significant minutes? The league has seen many players who came into the league with major injuries. Some missed multiple seasons before playing regularly (Embiid, Ilgauskas) and had good careers; others (Brandon Roy, Greg Oden) didn’t take time off, or enough time off, and had careers severely shortened by injury. Isn’t it possible the Nuggets are doing right by Porter (and the team) by bringing him along very slowly when only a year ago he was suffering nerve damage related drop foot after his second back surgery? Couldn’t it be he hasn’t yet recovered, strengthened and conditioned enough to play a rotation role this season, so the team doesn’t want to deny needed PT opportunities to players who they will need to play those roles this season?
